How to resize signature to 10 to 20 KB

  1. Sign on white paper

Use a black or dark blue pen on plain white paper, and photograph it in daylight without shadows.

  2. Choose the photo

Drop it here. Crop it close to the signature first if there is a lot of empty paper around it.

  3. Set the size the form asks for

Keep 10 to 20 KB or change it, and choose Exact size for pixel dimensions such as 300 x 80.

  4. Download

Check the size shown, then download the JPG and upload it to your form.

Getting a clean signature

Sign a few times on plain white paper with a dark pen and pick the best one. Photograph it straight on in daylight; a scanner works even better. "Whiten the paper" turns grey paper and shadows white and makes the ink solid, so the signature stays crisp at a small size.

Crop close to the signature first with the crop tool. Empty paper around it makes the signature smaller in the final image.

Sizes forms ask for

Forms usually give a file size range, such as 10 to 20 KB, and often pixel dimensions or a size in centimetres. Enter exactly what your form says: choose Exact size, type the pixels or centimetres, and set the DPI if it is mentioned. The size buttons fill in common pixel sizes.

Questions

How do I resize my signature to 10 to 20 KB?

Choose the photo of your signature, keep the 10 to 20 KB range, choose Exact size if your form gives dimensions, and download the JPG.

How do I make a signature 300 x 80 pixels?

Choose Exact size and click 300 x 80 px, or type the numbers. "Crop to fill" trims the paper to that shape; "Fit inside" keeps all of it and adds white.

My signature file is below 10 KB. What now?

A small, clean signature can compress very well. The tool raises quality and, when allowed, the dimensions to reach the minimum. If you set an exact small size, try a larger size the form allows.

What does DPI change?

DPI only tells printers how large to print the image. It does not change the pixels or the file size, but some forms check it, so set it when the instructions mention one.

Is my signature uploaded?

No. The image is compressed by your browser on your device, and nothing is sent to uncrop.si or anyone else.
