How to adjust image brightness.
- Open a photo and compare the slightly brighter preview.
- Move Brightness towards 100% or adjust it for the result you want.
- Check highlights and shadows, then download your edited copy.
More light, with a limit.
Brightness changes the lightness of the whole image. A small increase can help a photo that looks dark on screen, while a reduction can make a bright composition more comfortable to view. This tool starts at 115% so the effect is visible; 100% leaves brightness unchanged.
Look at pale surfaces, faces and dark clothing while you adjust the slider. Raising brightness too far can wash out highlights, and lowering it too far can hide shadow detail. Use contrast separately if you want greater separation between light and dark areas.
The tool changes existing pixels locally. It does not recover information from a completely white highlight or a completely black shadow, and it does not use AI relighting. Your original file is untouched, so you can export more than one version and compare them.

Can I darken a photo here too? +
Yes. Move Brightness below 100%. The same slider controls both brightening and darkening.
Does brightening recover lost detail? +
No. It changes the visible tones that are already present. Clipped highlights and shadows cannot be reconstructed by this adjustment.
What is the neutral setting? +
100% applies no brightness change. Reset edits also returns the photo to its original appearance.
