Choose your crop
Drag on the preview for a custom crop. The shaded edges will be removed.
Set the pixel dimensions
Dimensions are shared with the download controls below.
Presets set the longest edge. Unlocking the ratio can stretch the image.

Give it an edge
Frames are drawn inside the output size. PNG or WebP keeps any transparent corners.
Remove a background colour
Best for plain backdrops. Connected removal starts at the picked pixel, or image corners. Use the brush for other areas.

Choose the file that fits
Use JPG or WebP quality to reduce file size. PNG is lossless. The actual file size appears after you download.
A conversion does not recover detail already lost from the source. Transparent pixels become white in JPG.
Compare JPG, PNG and WebP →THREE SMALL STEPS
How to compress an image.
- Choose an image and note its original file size.
- Select JPG or WebP, adjust quality, and reduce dimensions if needed.
- Download and compare the reported size with the upload.
Smaller files are a balance, not a promise.
Image compression trades file size against visual detail. JPG and WebP quality controls let you make that trade deliberately. A lower quality setting can make a photo smaller, but may create visible artefacts around text, gradients or sharp edges. Always inspect the result at the size where it will be used.
Dimensions matter too. A large photo destined for a small web card often benefits more from resizing than from aggressively lowering quality. Start with the longest-edge presets, keep the aspect ratio locked, and choose a quality level that still looks acceptable.
The tool reports the actual generated file size after export. A PNG, a small original file, or a high-quality conversion may produce a larger download. PNG is lossless and ignores the quality slider. There is no fixed percentage reduction or automatic target-size guarantee.
A FEW USEFUL DETAILS
Before you download.
Can I guarantee a file below a particular KB limit? +
No fixed size is guaranteed. Export, check the reported size, then lower quality or dimensions and try again.
Why is the quality control disabled for PNG? +
Canvas exports PNG losslessly. Quality applies to JPG and WebP.
Does this send my image to a compression service? +
No. The browser creates the compressed download locally.
