About

A free, private way to uncrop photos

Most uncrop and image extender sites ask you to upload your photo, sign up, and buy credits before you see a result. uncrop.si takes the opposite approach: the tools run in your own browser, the free fills are genuinely free, and when you want a generative model you bring your own key and pay the provider directly, with no markup.

How the tools work

  • Smart fill runs LaMa, an open inpainting network, on your device with WebGPU. It fills the new area in small steps so wide extensions stay natural.
  • Texture fill is a content-aware patch synthesis engine written for this site. It rebuilds the border from patches of your own photo, favoring patches from the same height or column so horizons and shorelines continue.
  • Generative AI runs in an isolated panel on ai.uncrop.si and calls OpenAI, Google, OpenRouter, fal.ai or Stability AI directly from your browser.
  • Every method places your original pixels back on top, so the center of your photo is never altered.

How our guides are researched

Each "how to uncrop" guide is checked against the official help pages of the app it covers (Apple, Google, Samsung, Microsoft, Adobe, Canva and others). Every guide lists its sources and the date it was last checked. When an app changes its menus, we update the guide; if you spot something out of date, please email Automationbot538@gmail.com.

Honest about what uncropping can do

An uncrop tool imagines what might lie outside the frame. It cannot recover what was really there. When real pixels might still exist (an undo in the app that cropped the photo, a forgotten preview inside the file, or a backup), our guides and the cropped photo checker show you how to find them first.
