THREE SMALL STEPS

How to resize an image.

  1. Open a JPG, PNG or WebP image.
  2. Enter a width or height, or choose a longest-edge preset.
  3. Keep the ratio lock enabled and download your resized file.

Fit the space. Keep the proportions.

Pixel dimensions describe how many pixels make up an image. Reducing them can make a photograph easier to share or help it fit a website layout. This editor shows both the original dimensions and the dimensions of the file you will download.

The ratio lock changes the other dimension automatically. A 1,200 × 800 image becomes 600 × 400 when its width is halved. Unlocking the ratio allows a different shape, but stretches the image; use crop or padding when you want a different shape without distortion.

Enlarging an image increases its pixel count without recovering additional real detail. For large uploads the editor creates a bounded working copy to keep the browser responsive and tells you its size. The exported file can be up to 4,096 pixels on either side.

A FEW USEFUL DETAILS

Before you download.

Does resizing reduce file size? +

It often does, but the final size also depends on format and quality. The download message reports the actual generated file size.

Can I keep the entire image in a square? +

Yes. Use Fit without cropping to add blur, colour, mirror or transparent padding.

Will enlarging make a photo sharper? +

No. This browser tool resamples pixels; it does not invent new detail or use AI upscaling.
